• Sound archives will hold both in future analogue and digital documents

• Digitisation is an urgent need for both reasons: Preservation and improved Access

• New music material is almost digital only

• Mass Storage capacity will further increase

• Search and retrieval will be extended beyond catalogue by means of  content description

• Segmentation of music manually or automatically is crucial for tagging,  annotation and links

• Music Content Processing will increasingly replace catalogue search

• Migration will include sound, metadata AND content structure

• Interoperability between archives and libraries will depend on content  description standards

• Network-Users are ready to accept new access tools and services to probe further ./.
