Edwin Seroussi (born in
1952 in Montevideo, Uruguay) immigrated to Israel
in 1971. Ph.D. University of California, Los
Angeles (1987); M.A. cum laude, The Hebrew
University in Jerusalem (1981).
Edwin Seroussi is professor of Musicology and
director of the Jewish Music Research Center at
the Hebrew Universtiy of Jerusalem. He researched
Jewish musical traditions in North Africa and the
Middle East and Israeli popular music. He has
published Spanish-Portuguese Synagogue Music in
Reform Sources from Hamburg and the Cancionero
sefardi by Alberto Hemsi. |
